Alexandra Ustyukhina
Martyr
Saint Alexandra was born in 1882 in the village of Gusy-Zhelezny in the Ryazan province. She completed her rural schooling and became a seamstress. From 1930, being deeply religious, she devoted all her strength to church service, becoming the chairwoman of the church council of the Trinity Church. In 1935, she was arrested for refusing to hand over the keys to the church, but the church was successfully defended. On September 29, 1937, she was arrested again as a 'participant in a rebellious-terrorist organization.' She categorically rejected all accusations and on December 6, 1937, she was sentenced to execution.
