Saint Alexandra, born on April 22, 1882, in the village of Gridnevo, Smolensk province, was given a pious family. At the age of 15, she entered the Spaso-Borodino Monastery, which was closed in 1919. After returning to her homeland, she lived with her mother, engaged in farming, and followed monastic rules.
On January 27, 1938, Alexandra was arrested by the godless authorities and imprisoned. During interrogations, she refused to acknowledge any guilt regarding counter-revolutionary beliefs, asserting that she did not participate in the elections to the Supreme Soviet due to her religious convictions. On March 15, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced her to death by shooting.
Alexandra was executed on March 22, 1938, and buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo firing range near Moscow.
