Martyr Alexander Uksusov
Martyr
Martyr Alexander (Alexander Alexandrovich Uksusov) was born in 1874 in a pious peasant family. After finishing school, he worked the land and was an accountant in the collective farms of the Nekouz district. Being a deeply believing man, he served for several years as the chairman of the church community in the village of Maryino. In September 1937, he was arrested and accused of being a member of a church-rebellious group. During the interrogation, he denied the anti-Soviet nature of the church gatherings and did not betray anyone. Sentenced to ten years in the camps, he completed his martyr's path on December 6, 1937, in Kuloylag.
