Hieromartyr Alexander Grigorievich Posokhin was born in 1858. He graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary. In 1882, he was ordained to the priesthood and appointed rector of the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Vereina, Perm District. In 1891, he was transferred to serve at the Ascension Church in the village of Krasnosludskoye and was appointed its rector.
On December 17, 1918, after brutal torture and abuse, Priest Alexander Posokhin was drowned by godless persecutors in the Kama River.
He was numbered among the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in August 2000 by the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
His days of commemoration are December 17 (December 4 according to the old style), in the Synaxis of the Saints of the Perm Metropolis, and in the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
