Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop of Adrianopolis, and the Martyrs Heraclius, Anna, Elizabeth, Theodota, and Glyceria
Martyrs
Saint Alexander, bishop, converted many to the Christian faith and endured much suffering from the governor for refusing to offer sacrifices to idols. The soldier Irakli, seeing his patience, believed in Christ and was beheaded after cruel tortures. Saint Alexander, by the grace of God, healed from his wounds and converted four women to Christ: Anna, Elizabeth, Theodotia, and Glykeria. They were also beheaded for denouncing the idols. In the end, Saint Alexander also accepted a martyr's death, surrendering his soul to the Lord.
