Acacius of Sinai
Venerable
Saint Akakios of Sinai was a disciple of a strict elder, who tormented him with bodily afflictions and humiliations for nine years. Despite this, Akakios showed patience and humility, which brought him the grace of God. He responded to questions about his condition with joy, displaying his wounds, and said that he felt well, as before the Lord. After his death, the elder who had tormented Akakios did not believe in his passing, but upon hearing Akakios's response from the grave, he was frightened and, repenting, began to live piously, caring for the salvation of his soul. Blessed Akakios departed to the Lord, leaving behind an example of patience and obedience.
